Round 4 summary here.
In the AFL at the end of this round, there was one team with a 4-0 record, and only two teams with an 0-4 record.
But in the Supercoach Draft league, things were even closer. Nobody had managed to hold on to a winning streak, so the best record of any player at round 4 was 3-1, and the entire top 7 sat on that score.
Just a single win behind on 2-2, another five teams going down to 12th on the ladder.
And just one coach yet to win a game, the injury riddled Motley Crew.
NB: numbers next to team names at the beginning of each game report (shown in round brackets) represent their ladder position going into the round. Numbers next to team names in the next opponent section [shown in square brackets] represent the team’s ladder position at the end of round 2.

Key players missing from team line ups: Motley Crew: T Rockliff (BRL), D Smith (GWS) Galaxy’s Guns: A Miles (RIC)
Commentary: With captain T Mitchell (SYD) down on form, only one player managed to break the 100 point mark for Motley Crew. Galaxy’s Guns captain J Gunston (HAW) also failed to pass 100 points, but had five other players in the side passing the 100 point threshold and bringing the side to an easy victory.

White Line Fever vs Rough Draft
Key players missing from team line ups: Rough Draft: J O’Meara (GCS), J Bennell (FRE)
Commentary: A close match here. N Fyfe (FRE) was White Line Fever‘s captain, and rewarded that with a big score. He was supported by four other 100+ point scorers. Rough Draft captain was S Mumford (GWS) who scored strongly also, supported by four other 100+ point scorers. But in such a close game, it was White Line Fever who claimed their first four points for the season.
White Line Fever: A Gaff (WC), J Kelly (ESS), N Riewoldt (STK), J Billings (STK), N Fyfe (FRE)
Rough Draft: E Yeo (WC), S Lycett (WC), J Selwood (GEE), S Mumford (GWS), L Franklin (SYD)

Todd Goldmember vs Kobayashi Maru
Key players missing from team line ups:
Commentary: Kobayashi Maru captain R Gray (PTA) had a poor captain’s performance, but three other team members did break the 100+ point mark. Todd Goldmember captain Max Gawn (MEL) gave 105, supported by three other 100+ scoring players in the side. So Goldmember hands Kobayashi Maru his first loss of the season.

TeamarinoWazarino vs Clem Fandango
Key players missing from team line ups: Clem Fandango: D Beams (BRL),
TeamarinoWazarino who scored 1,441 def Clem Fandango who scored 1,397
Commentary: TeamarinoWazarino lost captain S Martin (BRL) to a concussion, but with four other teammates stepping up with 100+ point performances, they were too strong for Clem Fandango who could only get two players over the 100+ point mark.
TeamarinoWazarino: R Sloane (ADE), J Lewis (HAW), L Montagna (STK), A McDonald-Tipungwuti (ESS)
Clem Fandango: T Bugg (MEL), S Hill (FRE)

WADA you want who scored 1,658 def musashimonsters who scored 1,572
Commentary: musashimonsters captain A Hall (GCS) posted another strong score, and had three other 100+ point scorers backing him up. But with captain S Mitchell (HAW) and four supporting 100+ point scorers, WADA you want pulled away for the victory. musashimonsters have the dubious distinction of being the highest scoring team that lost this round.
WADA you want: K Simpson (CAR), S Mitchell (HAW), D Hannebery (SYD), R Bastinac (BRL), M Stokes (ESS)

Garry’s Lyon vs Jackson 22
Key players missing from team line ups:
Garry’s Lyon who scored 1,559 def Jackson 22 who scored 1,519
Commentary: Jackson 22 became the third and final team to suffer their first loss this round, leaving no team undefeated in the league. Captain P Dangerfield (GEE) was below his average form this season and fell 1 point short of the 100 threshold. Three other players managed the ton, including the freshly returned from injury J Hombsch (PTA). But with captain L Dahlhaus (WB) leading the way, and supported by six other teammates that also passed 100+ points, Garry’s Lyon proved too strong, moving to a 3-1 record with the last 3 matches consecutive wins. Though with a few potentially serious injuries, is that a streak the team can maintain?
Garry’s Lyon: M Suckling (WB), G Birchall (HAW), L Dahlhaus (WB), T Cotchin (RIC), T Boak (PTA), D Tyson (MEL), J Darling (WC)
Jackson 22: S Docherty (CAR), J Hombsch (PTA), T Greene (GWS)

Ed who scored 1,638 def KilpatrickDangrfld who scored 1,395.
Commentary: KilpatrickDangrfld lost M Priddis (WC) as a late withdrawal, and only two players left in the squad managed 100+ points. Ed captain G Ablett (GCS) led the way, being one of five players scoring 100+ for the side, who included returning S Steele (COL). Both coaches watching the MRP as both will have players up for review this week.
Ed: J Pittard (PTA), G Ablett (GCS), S Sidebottom (COL), T Nicholls (GCS), A Christensen (BRL)
KilpatrickDangrfld: S Savage (STK), M LeCras (WC)

Fourthorn (14) vs Wanda Bombers (4)
Key players missing from team line ups: Fourthorn: J Gibson (HAW) Wanda Bombers: C Enright (GEE), B Deledio (RIC), J Schulz (PTA)
Fourthorn who scored 1,654 def Wanda Bombers who scored 1,186.
Commentary: In a match with the largest winning margin for the round, an understrength Wanda Bombers were easily accounted for by Fourthorn. With captain S Pendlebury (COL) supported by three other 100+ point players, Fourthorn was hardly challenged by Wanda Bombers. The Bombers had 2 donuts on the field with no bench coverage at all. Captain K Jack (SYD) had an uncharacteristically poor game, and not one single player managed a 100+ point score.
Fourthorn: C Ward (GWS), S Pendlebury (COL), J Steven (STK), D Armitage (STK), J Caddy (GEE)
Wanda Bombers: I Smith (HAW) C Pederson (MEL)
Fourthorn: 3 wins, 1 losses – ladder position – next opponent: Jackson 22
Wanda Bombers: 2 wins, 2 losses – ladder position – next opponent: KilpatrickDangrfld
Out of Peptides vs Brendans Lobos
Key players missing from team line ups:
Brendans Lobos who scored 1,697 def Out of Peptides who scored 1,541.
Commentary: Not even a captain’s loophole, activated on L Shuey (WC) could save the Peptides this week. Brendans Lobos posted the highest team score for the round, which he has done for the last three consecutive rounds. Lobos captain T Goldstein (NTH) led five other 100+ point scorers for the side. Meanwhile for the Peptides, only two other players could manage 100+ points to back up Shuey.
Out of Peptides: L Shuey (WC), J Waite (NTH), K Stevens (WB)
Brendans Lobos: S Biggs (WB), H Taylor (GEE), T Goldstein (NTH), D Zorko (BRL), R Lobb (GWS)
