Welcome to the first of the Supercoach bye rounds, where in draft league, matches can be decided before the round starts, trading players out risks you not being able to get them back in again, projections are next to useless, and things are generally confusing.
With scores ranging betwen 719 and 1587, these bye weeks are the rounds where anything could happen.

KilpatrickDangrfld (10) vs Fourthorn (2)
Key players missing from team line ups:
Commentary: KilpatrickDangrfld went in to the match with just 8 players named on the field. Three players on the bench got scores, but since only one player can come off the bench to add to the team score, the team score lost 133 points that it would have earned if those players had just been named on the field. Captain B Gibbs (CAR) was on the bye, and since the Vice Captain B Keays (BRL) managed a measley 36, it seems KilpatrickDangrfld forgot to turn up this week. Four players scored 100+ for the side.
Meanwhile, Fourthorn managed 13 players on the field, and that difference alone gave them a huge advantage. Captain C Ward (GWS) was down on form and failed to get close to the 100+ range. 3 teammates did pass 100+, and second placed Fourthorn cruised through for an easy victory.
KilpatrickDangrfld : M LeCras (WC), M Barlow (FRE), B Ebert (PTA), S Motlop (GEE)
Fourthorn: P Puopolo (HAW), L Spurr (FRE), J Macrae (WB)
KilpatrickDangrfld : M Priddis (WC) broken nose
Fourthorn : J Caddy (GEE) medial ligament

Fourthorn : 10 wins, 3 losses – ladder position – next opponent: musashimonsters
Jackson 22 (5) vs Ed (8)
Key players missing from team line ups: Ed : S Johnson (GWS) Jackson 22 : E Wood (WB)
Commentary: In another game decided by how hard each side was hit by the bye, Ed fielded just 9 players with a 10th coming off the bench. Captain B Goddard (ESS) fell just short of the magical 100+, while one player on the field, and fortunately the player coming off the bench posted 100+.
But it was not enough when Jackson 22 captain P Dangerfield (GEE) once again posted an insane score that was the highest individual score for the week. Supported by 3 teammates that also passed 100+, this result was never in doubt. Byut with so many players in this week, expect to find the second two bye rounds much harder unless the coach gets creative at the trade table this week.
Jackson 22 : S Gibson (NTH), P Dangerfield (GEE), T Greene (GWS), T Scully (GWS)
Ed : H Grundy (SYD), Z Jones (SYD)
Jackson 22 : R Harwood (BRL) knee

musashimonsters (14) vs Garry’s Lyon (7)
Key players missing from team line ups: Garry’s Lyon : L Dahlhaus (WB), A Sandilands (FRE)
Commentary: musashimonsters fielded 11 players + 1 interchange, vs Garry’s Lyon fielding 14 players. But the monsters proved that just getting bodies on the ground isn’t enough to ensure victory.
musashimonsters looked like their coach also took a bye this round, with the captaincy sitting on D Martin (RIC) who was on the bye, and the Vice Captaincy sitting on D Shiel (GWS) who was in the last game of the round and failed to get 100+. But the 4 players in the side that did manage 100+, combined with the average score of all players that did play being 95, carried the side through despite the vacant coaches chair.
captain also failed to get the 100+, and only one player for the side did pass that 100+ threshold.
musashimonsters : D Wells (NTH), P Hanley (BRL), M Blicavs (GEE), Z Merrett (ESS)

Clem Fandango (11) vs WADA You Want (13)
Key players missing from team line ups: Clem Fandango : B Cunnington (NTH)
Commentary: In a game that may impact mid-year performance reviews, Clem Fandango was projected by the Supercoach site to walk away with this one. And where Clem Fandango brought 11 players in to the game against WADA you want bringing just 8 plus 1 interchange.
But Clem Fandango captain J Westhoff (PTA) continued the trend of captains failing to reach 100+ for the round, while only one single player did pass 100+ for the side.
WADA you want captain S Mitchell (HAW) broke the trend, and was one of three players posting 100+ for the side. Sneaking away for the second lowest winning team score of the round.
Clem Fandango : J McVeigh (SYD)
WADA You Want : S Mitchell (HAW), R Bastinac (BRL), J Gwilt (ESS)

Kobayashi Maru (9) vs TeamarinoWazarino (16)
Key players missing from team line ups: Kobayashi Maru : K Tippett (SYD) TeamarinoWazarino : J Polec (PTA)
Commentary: A slightly more predictable outcome for this match. Kobayashi Maru captain B Vince (MEL) posted a 100+ score, albiet the only one for the side.
TeamarinoWazarino had more problems than Casetrack reports. A sneaky captain’s loophole against S Martin (BRL) with his excellent individual score, supported by a single teammate passing the 100+ threshold just was not enough to catch up. Kobayashi Maru continue their yo-yo season, having sat on top of the ladder, and fallen down to the depths, to now find themselves once again in finals contention.
Kobayashi Maru : B Vince (MEL)
TeamarinoWazarino : J Lewis (HAW), S Martin (BRL)
Kobayashi Maru : L McDonald (NTH) hamstring
Kobayashi Maru : 7 wins, 6 losses – ladder position – next opponent: Garry’s Lyon
TeamarinoWazarino : 4 wins, 9 losses – ladder position – next opponent: Galaxys Guns
Rough Draft (4) vs Todd Goldmember (1)
Key players missing from team line ups: Rough Draft : C Guthrie (GEE), M Dea (ESS), S Mumford (GWS) Todd Goldmember : J Waite (NTH), J Johannisen (WB)
Commentary: This game saw Rough Draft field 15 players against ladder leader Todd Goldmember who also fielded 15.
Rough Draft also pulled a pin on the captain’s loophole with vice captain J Selwood (GEE). He was supported by one teammate in passing the 100+ mark.
Todd Goldmember, despite openly weeping about the Kangas loss on Friday, had captain L Neale (FRE) as one of 7 players for the side passing 100+.
Thus, Todd Goldmember posted the highest team score for the round and claimed the win. But with both teams having so many players on the ground this week, it will make the next two bye rounds difficult for both coaches.
Todd Goldmember also goes on to face Brendan’s Lobos who were early favourites to finish minor premiers. 1st vs 3rd would have to be called match of the round.
Rough Draft : J Selwood (GEE), E Yeo (WC)
Todd Goldmember : T Dumont (NTH), M Wood (NTH), T Rockliff (BRL), L Neale (FRE), M Gawn (MEL), S Coniglio (GWS), H Shaw (GWS)
Rough Draft : C Guthrie (GEE) illness withdrawn
Todd Goldmember :
Rough Draft : 7 wins, 5 losses 1 draw – ladder position – next opponent: WADA You Want
Todd Goldmember : 11 win, 2 losses – ladder position – next opponent Brendans Lobos
Galaxys Guns (12) vs White Line Fever (18)
Key players missing from team line ups: Galaxys Guns : N Naitanui (WC)
Commentary: It was a round where anything could happen, and White Line Fever proved that by scoring a rare victory.
Fever played 9 players, with 3 on the bench. One of the players on the bench managed 100+ points, but since only 1 player can come off the bench and add to the team score, Fever’s score could have been more than 150 points higher had those bench players been named on the ground. Galaxy’s Guns managed 10 players on the ground.
Fever captain A Gaff (WC) fell short of the 100+ threshold, leaving jut one player for the side to pass 100+ points that actually counted to the team score.
Guns captain, J Ziebell (NTH) was also quiet, with nobody managing to make 100+ for the side.
Galaxys Guns : In a side where nobody managed 100+, nobody got 90+, and nobody got 80+…….. 8(
White Line Fever : M Pavlich (FRE)
Galaxys Guns :
White Line Fever :
Galaxys Guns : 5 wins, 8 losses – ladder position – next opponent: WADA You Want
White Line Fever : 2 wins, 11 losses – ladder position – next opponent: Motley Crew
Brendans Lobos (3) vs Motley Crew (17)
Key players missing from team line ups:
Commentary: Brendan’s Lobos fielded 16 players for the round. Motley Crew fielded 16 plus 1 interchange.
Lobos captain J Bartel (GEE) was one of five players posting 100+ for the side. While Motley Crew captain T Mitchell (SYD) failed to respond in kind. One member of the Crew posted a 100+ for the round, which allowed the Lobos to claim the win.
But again, with so many in play in a bye round, both teams will need some special fortune to get through the next two bye rounds.
And Motley Crew move on to face White Line Fever, who are coming off a win in the BATTLE OF THE WOODEN SPOON! Well, not really, but it will be the only two teams to occupy the bottom stop on the ladder this season facing off.
Brendans Lobos : T Goldstein (NTH), D Zorko (BRL), J Bartel (GEE), L Parker (SYD)
Motley Crew : D Mundy (FRE)
Brendans Lobos :
Motley Crew :
Brendans Lobos : 8 wins, 4 losses – ladder position – next opponent: Todd Goldmember
Motley Crew : 3 wins, 9 losses 1 draw – ladder position – next opponent: White Line Fever
Out of Peptides (6) vs Wanda Bombers (16)
Key players missing from team line ups: Out of Peptides: K Stevens (WB), A Swallow (NTH)
Commentary: In a round that had yours truly sweating bullets up to the final game, Wanda Bombers fielded 11 players, with three on the bench. Out of Peptides fielded 13 players. And with a final margin of just 118 points, while Wanda Bombers had 159 points on the bench that did not count toward the team total because only one player can come off the bench, the failure to put those players on the field literally cost Wanda Bombers the win.
Peptides captain J Kennedy (SYD) was one of two players passing 100+ for the side. Bombers captain O Wines (PTA) failed to make 100+, with 3 teammates that did pass the 100+ threshold.
Out of Peptides: M Robinson (BRL), J Kennedy (SYD)
Wanda Bombers : R Tarrant (NTH), C Enright (GEE), K Jack (SYD)
Out of Peptides:
Wanda Bombers :
Out of Peptides: 8 wins, 5 losses – ladder position – next opponent: KilpatrickDangrfld
