Note: The solstice is when one of the Earth’s hemispheres is angled at the sun to receive the most sunlight. The hemisphere angled toward the sun experiences the Summer Solstice, while the opposite hemisphere – which must be angled to receive the least sunlight – experiences the Winter Solstice.
